Welcome - Visit to Spello - Welcome Dinner

Welcome! Arrival in Umbria after lunch and accommodation in an agriturismo / 3* hotel between Foligno and Perugia according to availability at the time of confirmation. In the afternoon, we suggest a free visit of Spello.

The Porta Consolare marks the entrance to Spello or, as Julius Caesar called it, the Splendidissima Colonia Julia, an enchanting village of Roman origin, counted among the most beautiful villages in Italy, thanks to its rich environmental, cultural and artistic heritage. Spello still retains traces of its historical past with its ancient walls and Properzio Towers protecting Porta Venere, another access point to the town. The Church of Santa Maria Maggiore can be reached by strolling through charming alleys and ancient streets, along which flowered balconies overlook the town and which, with the passage of time, have become true symbols of the town, and still remain one of its most sought-after attractions. The church houses an artistic treasure inside: the Baglioni Chapel, with Deruta majolica floor tiles and frescoes by Pinturicchio. Spello also boasts a rich picture gallery and, just outside the walls, a marvellous museum complex known as the 'Villa Dei Mosaici', which has unearthed 500 square metres of precious mosaics whose central theme is the grape harvest and wine.

9 pm - Rich welcome dinner in a restaurant selected by us, drinks included. After dinner, return to the agriturismo / 3* hotel and overnight stay.

Horseback riding - lunch in a restaurant - Visit to Gubbio
This morning we are going to have a very pleasant experience: a ride in the countryside, surrounded by greenery, caressed by the wind, in contact with a specimen of such rare pride, elegance, strength, patience and intelligence; it cannot be just a sport, but an experience that cannot be missed. The beneficial and relaxing relationship that is created with the horse makes horseback riding a privileged instrument of participation in nature, rapprochement with others and self-awareness, as well as bringing undoubted health benefits. Our guide will give you an initial briefing so that you can learn the most important notions of this activity and be ready for the experience, provide you with valuable tips on how to relate to this lovable friend, and then take you on a pleasant horseback ride, a ride that is also suitable for those who have never approached this exciting experience before. After the horseback ride, we reach Gubbio and have lunch in a local restaurant in the historic centre, where you can enjoy a menu with typical Umbrian and Gubbio products and drinks included.Afterwards, we suggest a visit to Gubbio, one of Umbria's oldest towns. In Gubbio, you can breathe history from every stone and there are many traces of its glorious past: the Roman Theatre dating back to the 1st century AD, the Basilica of Sant'Ubaldo , which dominates the city and houses the remains of the saint, the patron saint of Gubbio, the Gothic Cathedral, the Church of Santa Maria Nuova, which houses the fresco 'La Madonna del Belvedere' by Ottaviano Nelli, a master painter and miniaturist who was born in Gubbio. In the Palazzo dei Consoli, seat of the Pinacoteca Civica, we find the 'Tavole Eugubine', seven bronze tablets bearing inscriptions in Umbrian characters from the 3rd and 2nd centuries B.C. and Latin characters from the 2nd and 1st centuries B.C., very important documents for the history of the Italic peoples. Visit to Gubbio on one's own (suggested visit).Return to accommodation, free dinner and overnight stay.

Visit to Assisi - Departure

Breakfast at the agritourism / 3* hotel, check-out and before leaving our region we suggest you reach the historic centre of Assisi to take an independent walk in the city of peace.

Pax et Bonum! This is the greeting with which Assisi welcomes you, a Franciscan place par excellence, not only in Umbria and Italy, but throughout the world. St Francis was in fact born in Assisi in 1182; in the place where his birthplace is believed to have been located, today stands the Chiesa Nuova. It is in Assisi that he was baptised, in the Cathedral of San Rufino, it is among its alleys that he spent his youth dreaming of a future as a valiant knight, it is here, where the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore stands today, in the Piazza del Vescovado, that he stripped himself, repudiating earthly goods for love of God and his brothers and sisters. It is still in Assisi, in the Church of San Damiano, that praying before the crucifix, he receives the task of renewing the Church of Christ, it is in the town square that he begins his preaching and his work of charity and peace, and it is finally here that he dies in 1226. His remains are preserved in the Basilica of St Francis, but the saint still lives on in every stone of Assisi. Stroll through its enchanting alleys and visit the Franciscan sites.
