Le Infiorate
Torgiano Corpus Christi Floral Decorations
The Infiorate of Torgiano, which will take place on 2 June 2024, is a tradition dating back to 1540, when at the end of the siege of the castrum fortified by Ascanio della Corgna, during the Salt War, the citizens negotiated the surrender of the city without casualties with the papal troops led by Pier Luigi Farnese. They therefore wanted to give thanks to God with flowers. This tradition lives on to this day and the townspeople in cooperation with the ‘Salt War’ Association create paintings of flowers and salt. This year, the four historical districts (Torgiano, Brufa, Pontenuovo and Rosciano) will compete in the realisation of drawings on the theme of 16th century painting. During the day, there will also be a historical urban trekking guided by the Scannagallo armies, which will take visitors from the confluence of the Tiber and Chiascio rivers, the scene of the war events of the time, through the historical town centre to the Baglioni Tower.

Cannara Flower Festival
It is traditionally held on the day of Corpus Domini.
The night before the event, splendid floral carpets are set up along the streets of the town, intended to host the passage of the priest in procession with the Blessed Sacrament: only he is allowed to step on them.
During the event, visitors have the chance to visit Cannara and watch the work of the flower arrangers: from the drawing of the sketches to the preparation and laying of the flowers, which will continue throughout the night, during which musical entertainment is planned.
